We May NEVER Pass This Way Again...
Life is but a game and we let it fade away..
We may never pass this way again. We may never pass this way again.
Great words to a great song and such truer words never spoken as in this song...allow me to wax a bit philanthropic this morning. Is life really a game and if so are you playing it as best you can? Or are you letting it fade way?
When we kiss a and tell a loved one goodbye, we are never assured we will ever see them again in this life..we as human beings try to avoid the inevitable and skirt death like a plague. We tend to live life as if it will never end..don't get me wrong..we should live every day to it's fullest possible potential. Whatever that may be for yourself on any given day. And some days that may just be that all you do that day is sleep or sit around and do nothing.
However even if you just sit around doing nothing you can still take the opportunity to tell someone you love them or thank them for a kindness. Or tell someone something they made or have done was a job well done.
Get off the computer and put your own life aside for a moment and tell that person you respect them by actually paying some REAL attention to them. Your computer won't run away while you let someone right there is your own presence feel that you care and really love and respect them!! Maybe it is your child wanting to show you what they just have drawn..maybe it is your husband/wife wanting to tell you about his day..or your mother or a sibling wanting to say hi and guess what I just did!! Is it so going to kill you to get off the phone or the laptop and pay them some attention for a moment??
By not giving them those few precious moments you just might be saying to them, sorry you are not more important to me than my electronics or my own pursuits, go away and leave me alone! Do you really want that person to have that hurt feeling as the last feeling they have about you?
We MAY never pass this way again..you can not get a precious moment back ever..oh you can try, but it won't work. The moment is gone forever.
We stand over caskets and graves and say "Wish I had...", but that moment is gone that you could have had in the past with that person. (Please understand I do believe in Heaven and an afterlife, but I am speaking of living here on Earth in our temporary home and our temporary earthly bodies)
A friend of mine asked last night on her status, have we really become so busy and so attached to our computers we have to talk to one another via a computer while sitting in the same room with that person??
Again do not misunderstand me..I LOVE my computer and the world it has opened up to me!! I love Facebook and my friends and the magic of seeing what they do and of meeting someone online I may never meet in person!! The wonder of a computer has given me some new respective on life, opened doors for me and given me some sense of accomplishment I may never have gotten any other way. It has allowed me to share my faith and my beliefs and my love of God and Jesus Christ in a way and with so many people that I would never be able to do in person!!
Life is a tower of cards and it can all come tumbling down with the slightest of a breeze..so take those moments and let someone know you care and that they really do matter in your life..because we just may NEVER pass this way again!!
"Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them become what they are capable of becoming."~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Micah 6:8: "Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God."
PS..with all the above being said..do not forget to be kind to your Facebook friends as often as you can..you might be the only person who shows that friend love, respect and appreciation for a job well done that day!!
